For job seekers

Getting started

Past the Bots shows you what an applicant tracking system sees when it reads your résumé — then helps you fix and tailor it, truthfully. Here's the whole flow.

The five-minute workflow

1

Scan your résumé

Go to Check résumé and upload a PDF, DOCX, or TXT. We parse it exactly the way an ATS does — including the layout tricks (columns, text boxes, images) that quietly break parsers.

2

Read “what the bot saw”

The report shows the exact fields, sections, and skills the machine extracted, plus every parse problem. If your email or a whole job is missing here, that's what a recruiter's system sees too. How the scores work →

3

Match it to a job

Paste a job description (or import it by URL) to see your match score and the keywords you're missing — the terms the role expects that aren't on your résumé yet.

4

Fix and tailor — truthfully

Download the clean, ATS-safe rebuild, or use the AI tools (tailored résumé, cover letter, interview prep, LinkedIn optimizer) to surface your realexperience in the wording the job calls for. Add missing keywords only where they're genuinely true of you.

5

Save it and get found

Signed in, every check is saved to My scans with status tracking and analytics. And you can opt into the talent pool so recruiters find you — your email stays private until you reply.

Common questions

What file types can I upload?+
PDF, DOCX, or TXT. You can also skip the upload entirely and paste your résumé text into the live editor.
Do I need an account?+
No. You can run an audit and see how the bots read your résumé without signing in. A free account adds a monthly full check, saved history, and the talent pool — it never asks for a card.
What's the difference between the scan and the live editor?+
The scan takes an uploaded file and gives you the full report plus AI tools and a downloadable .docx. The live editor scores plain text as you type — great for rewriting and watching your match climb in real time.
How do I import a job posting?+
On the scan page and the live editor, paste the job-posting URL into the import box and we'll pull the description in for you. Some sites (like LinkedIn) block automated fetches — if that happens, just paste the text instead.
