Marketers are the most likely to send a beautifully designed résumé, and designed résumés are what parsers handle worst.

What trips up marketers' résumés

  • A designed template sent to an ATS

Columns, color blocks, and icons all cost you in parsing. Send a plain, single-column version to the ATS, and keep the designed version for in-person interviews.

  • Channel acronyms

Our parser counts Google Ads and paid search as SEM, but a screen matches the posting's words. Write both the channel name and the acronym.

  • Portfolio links hidden behind a word

A hyperlink on the word "Portfolio" leaves no URL in the extracted text. Write the full address out.

  • Campaign results as graphics

A chart of your campaign's lift is an image. Put the number in a sentence.
