ATS résumé checker for finance and accounting
Finance résumés lean on credentials and figures. Put either in the wrong place and a parser drops it.
What trips up finance and accounting professionals' résumés
CPA or CFA only after your name
Credentials tacked onto the name line are easy for a parser to lose or mangle. Also list them under Certifications or Licenses, which map to a standard field.
Figures in tables
Budget and savings figures laid out in a table get flattened. Put each figure in a sentence on a bullet.
Standards named only indirectly
Our parser counts GAAP and bookkeeping as Accounting, but a posting that asks for GAAP is usually screened for that word. Name the standards and systems you know, like SAP.
Running long
Our check flags résumés over two pages. Long histories dilute the keywords a screen is looking for.
Keywords our parser recognizes for this field
Only list what you genuinely have, and use the wording of the posting you're applying to. A free check shows which of the posting's terms your résumé is missing.
Headings that map cleanly
Each of these maps to a standard field. If a heading on your résumé doesn't, the check flags it.
Know which ATS you're facing
Different platforms read the same file differently. Read the guide for the one on your application.
See exactly what the bot pulls from your résumé
Upload your résumé and paste the job posting. You'll see every field the parser extracts, every problem above that applies to you, and the posting's terms you're missing.
