ATS résumé checker for sales professionals
Sales résumés live and die on numbers, and numbers tend to end up in tables and graphics. That's exactly the content a parser flattens or can't see.
What trips up sales professionals' résumés
Quota results in a table
A year-by-year attainment table gets flattened unpredictably. Write each result as a bullet: "Closed $4.2M in new ARR in 2023, 140% of quota."
Awards as badges
A President's Club badge is an image a parser can't read. Write it as text under an Awards, Honors, or Achievements heading, which all map to a standard field.
Sales jargon that doesn't match the posting
Our parser counts cold calling and lead generation as Prospecting, and enterprise sales as B2B Sales. A screen usually matches the posting's own words, so mirror them.
"CRM" instead of the tool
Postings often name Salesforce specifically. Name the CRM you actually used.
Keywords our parser recognizes for this field
Only list what you genuinely have, and use the wording of the posting you're applying to. A free check shows which of the posting's terms your résumé is missing.
Headings that map cleanly
Each of these maps to a standard field. If a heading on your résumé doesn't, the check flags it.
Know which ATS you're facing
Different platforms read the same file differently. Read the guide for the one on your application.
