ATS résumé checker for nurses
Nursing résumés carry things most résumés don't: credentials after your name, licenses, a stack of certification acronyms, and clinical section headings. Each is a place a parser can slip.
What trips up nurses' résumés
Credentials after your name
"Maria Gonzalez, RN, BSN" from our test set used to parse with the credentials as part of her name, and "RN" was even misread as a state. We fixed that in our parser, but simpler parsers can still stumble. List your credentials in a Licensure section too, so they're captured as credentials.
Clinical headings
Clinical Experience and Licensure & Certifications map cleanly to standard fields. A résumé organized unit by unit with no experience heading may not get its jobs filed.
EHR systems by name
Our parser counts Epic and Cerner as EHR experience, but postings often ask for Epic specifically. Name the system you used, not just "EHR."
Certifications as bare acronyms
BLS, ACLS, and PALS are recognized as written. Put each on a plain line in your certifications section rather than inside a table or a badge graphic.
Keywords our parser recognizes for this field
Only list what you genuinely have, and use the wording of the posting you're applying to. A free check shows which of the posting's terms your résumé is missing.
